KEY PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES

Skill Development Program

We believe education should go beyond classrooms and empower individuals with practical skills to earn a livelihood. Our Skill Development & Vocational Training program is designed for youth and women from underprivileged communities who often lack access to formal education or job opportunities. Through short-term courses in tailoring, computer literacy, handicrafts, spoken English, and digital awareness, we equip participants with market-relevant skills. Beyond technical knowledge, the program builds selfconfidence, communication skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Many trainees have successfully started small businesses, found jobs in local industries, or even provided services within their neighborhoods. This initiative directly reduces unemployment and dependency, uplifting entire families. The highlight of this year was training over 200 young people, out of which nearly 60% have already begun earning through independent work or employment.

Women Empowerment & Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

Empowering women means empowering families and communities. Our Women Empowerment initiative focuses on forming and strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs) where women come together to learn, save money collectively, and start micro-enterprises. These groups serve as platforms for financial independence and mutual support. Training sessions on financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship enable women to build confidence and actively participate in decision-making, both at home and in society. In 2023–24, we supported more than 150 women through SHGs, helping them start small businesses like stitching units, grocery stalls, and home-based food ventures. The ripple effect has been tremendous—children’s education improved, families became financially stable, and women gained respect in their households. This program reflects our vision of building a society where every woman has the opportunity to shine and lead.

Education & Learning Support

Education is the strongest foundation for long-term change, yet millions of children from marginalized communities drop out due to poverty, lack of resources, or absence of support at home. Our Education & Learning Support program works to bridge this gap by providing free tuition classes, after-school learning support, and scholarships for bright students who cannot afford schooling. We also distribute books, stationery, uniforms, and digital learning tools to ensure that no child is left behind. In addition, special focus is given to first-generation learners, ensuring they do not discontinue education due to financial or social pressure. This year, over 300 children benefited from our supplementary classes, with nearly 80% showing significant improvement in reading, writing, and numeracy skills. Many children who were on the verge of dropping out have returned to school with renewed confidence. Through this program, we aim not just to educate, but to inspire curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning.

Health & Hygiene Awareness

Health is often neglected in underserved communities due to lack of awareness and access. Our Health & Hygiene Awareness program focuses on preventive healthcare, sanitation, and nutrition. We organize medical camps, distribute hygiene kits, and conduct awareness drives on topics like menstrual health, clean drinking water, and balanced nutrition. Women and children remain our priority, as they are most vulnerable to poor health conditions. This year, we reached 500+ families through free check-ups and distributed sanitary pads, soaps, and water purifiers in slum clusters. Interactive workshops helped break social taboos around menstruation and hygiene, encouraging behavioral change. The program not only improves physical health but also reduces medical expenses, enabling families to focus resources on education and livelihood. Our long-term goal is to create communities that understand health as a right and practice cleanliness as a culture.

Environmental Sustainability & Tree Plantation

A healthy environment is the backbone of a sustainable future. Through our Environmental Sustainability program, we focus on tree plantation, waste management awareness, and promoting clean energy practices. This year, we planted over 2,000 trees across schools, community parks, and barren lands. Alongside plantation drives, awareness sessions were held on reducing single-use plastics, proper waste segregation, and water conservation. Students and youth volunteers played a major role, making the campaign more impactful. Our “Green Clubs” in schools encourage children to take responsibility for nurturing the saplings, creating a sense of environmental stewardship from an early age. By linking environment with livelihood, we also promote eco-friendly skills like organic farming and recycling-based microbusinesses. The initiative is not just about planting trees, but about cultivating responsibility, ensuring cleaner air, greener spaces, and a healthier tomorrow.

Project Pragati – Community Education & Awareness Camps

Health is essential for a strong society, yet access to medical care remains challenging for underprivileged communities. Project Arogya organized health and wellness camps in underserved areas during 2023–24, providing free medical check-ups, essential medicines, diagnostic tests, and health education on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care. Special focus was given to women and children, with guidance on maternal health, child nutrition, and vaccinations, as well as regular check-ups for senior citizens. Collaborating with local doctors and volunteer medical students enhanced service quality. By March 2022, the project benefited over 3,500 individuals, improving health outcomes and fostering a culture of awareness and prevention in the community.

Stationery Distribution

Education begins with the basics. In 2024–25, Save the Life Charitable Trust distributed essential stationery to over 1,200 underprivileged children. From notebooks and pens to school bags, these small tools created big opportunities for learning. For many children, this support meant continuing education without financial burden on their families. By ensuring access to simple yet vital resources, we are planting the seeds of confidence and hope in young minds.

Free Tuition Centers

To bridge educational gaps, our free tuition centers supported more than 500 students. These centers provided academic guidance, mentoring, and a safe learning environment. Many children who could not afford private tuition received quality help in subjects like mathematics, science, and languages. Our teachers and volunteers worked tirelessly to prepare students for a brighter future. Education is the foundation of empowerment, and our centers continue to light the path.

Sewing Machine Training

Livelihood skills create independence. Our Sewing Machine Training Program enabled 80+ women to learn tailoring and garment-making. This program not only provided technical skills but also encouraged entrepreneurship, allowing women to start homebased businesses. Many beneficiaries have already begun earning and supporting their families. By empowering women with practical skills, we are building stronger households and communities.
